It truly amazes me how one thing as simple as a phone call can completely alter the direction of your life.

One day, I received a phone call from a gentleman who I had worked with in the past. We chatted for awhile and he told me about business opportunity that I should really look into. At that time I was so burned out at looking at hundreds of other businesses, jobs, and trying to figure out what to do with myself, I ended up passing on it.

A week later he called again. And again. And again. And finally, through the fog I finally saw what he saw. I finally understood why he was so excited. And for the first time in countless months, I had a feeling of hope. A feeling that maybe… just maybe this is what I have been searching for. Just maybe…

It was about two months after that phone call that I found myself sitting on that same couch in the same one bedroom apartment. Although I was able to scrape by, I was still in the same financial situation I was in before. I was inches away from losing everything. And on this very day, my bank account had a negative balance, so I truly had nothing to my name.

But this day was different…

On this day, the UPS guy had knocked on my door and gave me an envelope that I put down on my coffee table in my living room. On this day, my life was about to forever change simply because of this UPS envelope that sat there in front of me.

Within this envelope was a check made out to me for an amount that was more money than I had ever earned in a year previously. I savored every tiny tear I made in the envelope as I opened it. And when I finally took the check out, I placed it on the coffee table and just stared at it. I couldn’t believe that I finally did it.

I was finally out of the rat race. I knew that working at jobs I strongly disliked were over. I knew that the time and financial freedom that I had looked so hard for, for so many years had finally arrived.
