Google’s New Radio Ad Service
As stated on a Google web page, “Interested in running a radio campaign? Sign up now and receive $400.00* towards your first radio campaign — we’ll even put you in touch with specialists who can help you create your own professional-quality ad!Radio advertising can enhance your advertising campaign in a number of different ways — it’s cost-effective and highly targeted, and it offers a different format for reaching potential customers. Learn more about the benefits of running radio campaigns…”
Although this has been talked about for awhile (See article dated January, 2006 on ClickZ), Google is ready to ‘Rock and Roll’ with their radio ads - and provide you with a $400 credit on your account towards your first campaign.
To learn how this works, check out the presentation that Google Radio put together by going to: http://services.google.com/audioads/demo/#slide=1
This looks interesting and may be worth testing out in a few markets - especially since Google allows you to reserve ad space - or you can bid for your ads to play via an online auction to get the best price. But not only that, but Google has partnered with 100’s of radio stations.
Plus they have a ton of great reporting features including ‘call reporting’ which tracks the calls that come in from your audio ad.
I’ve advertised websites in magazines…
I’ve advertised websites in newspapers…
I’ve advertised on television…
I’ve advertised online…
And I’ve advertised 1,000 other ways. But I’ve never tried radio advertising. This sounds interesting and is something that I will be testing. And of course, I will provide you with all of the details right here and let you know how it pans out. :)
Anyone else going to try it out? Feel free to comment below by clicking on the ‘comment’ button.
