Thinking of joining a MLM Company? Find your passion first.
Why do so many people fail in Network Marketing? And are you setting yourself up to be the next failure?
When considering joining a MLM (Network Marketing) Company, make sure that the company and products are in line with your passions. By the looks of it out there, sometimes I’d swear that people have ‘Making Money’ listed as their number one passion. Huh.
We’ve all seen the countless ads online and off for all sorts of Network Marketing business opportunities, with many ‘hyping’ the income that you can generate. Now it’s cleaned up a little out there over the years and people can see right though most of those ads, but for some reason people keep falling for them.
Let’s face it: most people who get involved in an MLM/Network Marketing Company join because of the potential to earn an extra income from home all the way to those looking to generate millions of dollars. Yes, there are those who join because they want more freedom and because they are passionate about the products, but when it comes to the money… that’s what most are looking at.
When I hear the question, “how much money can I make with this”, it’s usually a very good sign that someone is looking for a ‘quick fix’ and/or they have not even thought for a moment if the company offers products that they are passionate about. Little do they know that by joining a company with the only reason being they think or they’re told that they can make some or even a lot of money… they are setting themselves up for failure.
When you are passionate about something, you’ll push yourself harder. You’ll learn more. ? You’ll know more. And best of all, you’ll love what you do and you’ll never let the little bumps in the road get to you or hold you back from your goals.
On a basic level, think about it this way: One who is passionate about gardening and keeping the yard looking nice doesn’t mind pulling weeds out of their garden and planting new flowers. They enjoy it. But one who could care less about gardening would feel ‘weeding the garden’ is a waste of time and would rather hire someone to do it. One who is passionate about something enjoys the work; while one who is not passionate about what they’re doing easily finds other things to do to avoid the work.
Your passion is what fuels you to accomplish great things and is what separates those who barely scrape by and those who earn massive fortunes in the Network Marketing Industry. So the question is, are you truly passionate about what the company that you’re looking at offers?
And another great question for you if you are building an MLM business: Are you finding our what your prospect’s passions are to see if the MLM business that you are associated in is even the right business for them? Ahhhhh…. spending too much time with the wrong people. Another subject for another day…
If your passionate about new health-related products, how excited are you going to be about a technology company? And if you’re passionate about gardening, how excited will you be about a company that sells books and courses about marketing as products?
When you align what your passionate about with a product or service that is in the same market/industry/niche, you’re setting yourself up for success instead of failure.

I admit, MLM is not for everyone because not everyone has passions that align with a Network Marketing Company. If your passion is food and you own a restaurant, odds are you’ll do quite well (coupled with the right location, management, and marketing). If you’re passion is the Internet and you start a lawn care company, odds are you’re going to have a tough time mowing lawns everyday and the many hours away from your computer. And because you’re not passionate about mowing lawns or even lawn care, little problems will turn into big problems. Frustration will lead to stress and before you know it, you’re off to start a new business and quit doing lawn care.
Find your passion and if you can find a company that has products that you’re passionate about… success is not too far down the road. That is of course you’re willing to do the work that it takes to become successful.
